The Rolling Stones released the single “Divine Intervention” from their upcoming album Foreign Tongues, featuring Robert Smith of The Cure. Mick Jagger mentioned that it was the first time he met Smith and that the collaboration came about because Smith was recording at the same studio and was invited to contribute to the album.
The lyrics of “Divine Intervention” touch on themes of life’s unpredictability and the idea that divine intervention is out of the question, with lines like “Life is a gambling game” and “I go to dance in the flames.” Foreign Tongues will be out July 10.
