The Red Hot Chili Peppers plan to honor Taylor Hawkins this weekend at the New Orleans Jazz Fest.The band is filling in for the Foo Fighters, who cancelled all tour dates after Hawkins’ death last month.The Chili Peppers – who are good friends with Hawkins and the Foos – told Billboard “It’s going to be a celebration”, and said they’d be bringing Hawkins’ wife Alison to the festival. Drummer Chad Smith promised “We’re going to play our hearts out”.
The Peppers released a new album “Umlimited Love” last month and welcomed back guitarist John Frusciante who had left the band in 2009 and came back in 2019.
