Chris Rock was doing some jokes before the Best Documentary nominees. One of the jokes he told was about Jada Pinkett Smith. Jada’s head was shaved, so Chris said, quote, “Jada, I love ya. ‘G.I. Jane 2’, can’t wait to see it.” (“G.I. Jane” is a 1997 movie featuring DEMI MOORE going through military training . . . with a shaved head.) Even though her husband Will Smith laughed, she didn’t. Chris lightly responded to her being upset, and then Will walked up the stairs and slapped Chris across the face. Then the audio went dead for 20 seconds.
