If you needed proof that age is just a number and rock ‘n’ roll is the ultimate fountain of youth, look no further than Donnie Iris.

On February 21st at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg, PA, “King Cool” did more than just show up—he blew the roof off the place. In a video circulating from the show, Donnie is seen (and heard!) belting out his 1980 classic “Ah! Leah!” with the same grit and soaring vocal range that made him a legend decades ago.

This wasn’t just any concert. For fans, this performance felt like a victory lap. In 2023, Donnie was diagnosed with bladder cancer, forcing him to cancel shows and focus on his health. After a tough road of treatment and recovery, seeing him back on stage—just days before his 83rd birthday—was nothing short of miraculous.

Beating cancer at any age is a feat; returning to the stage and performing shortly after is a testament to his spirit.

Check out his performance, he looks great, sounds awesome and it will give you chills. At the end of the video, Donnie says to the audience, “I’m beat.” He’s a great reminder of why we fell in love with rock ‘n’ roll in the first place.
