Wisconsin's Big Cheese 107.9

Back in the day, if you wanted walking-around money, you didn’t petition your parents for a raise in your allowance. That was a one-way ticket to a lecture about “the value of a dollar.” Instead, you went out and got this ancient thing we used to call a job.

I was a serial worker bee between high school and college, and most of those gigs actually shaped the person I am today:

  • Construction: Taught me how to swing a hammer and tackle DIY projects without calling for backup.

  • Applebee’s Waiter: Forged my people skills in the fires of “the dinner rush” and hangry customers.

  • UPS: The ultimate “get paid to work out” hack.

Then, there was Dairy Queen. What did I learn while mastering the art of the 3.5-ounce swirl? Honestly? Not much that applies to my professional life today. Unless you count the realization that I cannot be trusted alone with a soft-serve machine and a bucket of toppings. My self-control ends where the Blizzard machine begins. Truly, my only skill was Eating the Profits!

I’ve stayed away for a while to protect my waistline, but DQ just announced their March 2026 lineup, and they are leaning hard into the St. Paddy’s Day spirit. As a former insider, I feel it is my professional duty to investigate.

Dairy Queen just dropped the Mint Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone. We’re talking classic vanilla soft serve dipped in a vibrant green, mint-flavored coating packed with cookie crumbles. If that’s not enough, they’re even offering “Mint Crunchin’ Cookie Hacks” to level up your order while the coating is in stock.

And for the purists? The Mint Oreo Blizzard—a glorious mix of Oreo pieces and creme de menthe—is officially the Blizzard of the Month.

The “Limitied Time Only” warning is really all the peer pressure I need. My days of wearing the visor and apron might be over, but my career as a professional fan is just getting started. I think it’s time to head into a DQ and see if I’ve still got the “dip” technique down—from the consumer side, of course.
