Casey Dean and Eduards Nits purchased what is believed to be the world’s oldest McDonald’s Quarter Pounder in 1995, which they have kept carefully wrapped in its original packaging for 30 years.
Despite never being refrigerated and stored in various places, the Quarter Pounder has not aged, developed mold, or a bad odor, leading Nits to describe it as no longer food but artwork.
McDonald’s chef Mike Haracz debunked the myth that McDonald’s burgers never go bad, attributing the Quarter Pounder’s longevity to a dry environment inhibiting mold and bacteria growth.
Nits and Dean never intended to keep the burger for so long, with the burger becoming a prized possession and even traveling the world with Nits’ sister.
Despite not meeting the criteria for the Guinness World Records due to lack of original receipt, Dean is determined to create a legacy for the Senior Burger by passing it down to future generations and creating social media accounts for it. The pictures are crazy, check them out here.
