The Who kicked off their North American tour with a setlist featuring seven songs from their 1971 album “Who’s Next,” including “Going Mobile,” which had never been performed live by the band before.
Pete Townshend sang lead on “Going Mobile,” a song about life on the road, during the concert in Florida. Simon Townshend, Pete’s younger brother and longtime bandleader for Roger Daltrey, has performed “Going Mobile” 142 times at Daltrey’s concerts but had never done so at an actual Who concert until this performance.
The band has not performed “Who’s Next” in its entirety but could potentially add “Getting In Tune” and “My Wife” to the setlist to achieve this. The setlist for the tour includes hits and deep cuts, with “The Song Is Over” being the last song played with drummer Zak Starkey before his departure earlier this year.
