Members of R.E.M., Screaming Trees, and the Black Crowes have formed a new supergroup called Silverlites.
The lineup includes R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck, Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson, and drummer Barret Martin of Screaming Trees and Mad Season, along with frontman Joseph Arthur.
Martin says the project formed in 2019 and recorded the music in 2021 during the pandemic. The first single, “Don’t Go, Don’t Stay” is available now on digital platforms, and the band’s self-titled debut album Silverlites will be out Nov. 15th.
