Billy Joel has reassured fans about his health, confirming he is “okay” after undergoing brain surgery in September to address normal pressure hydrocephalus, a condition he was diagnosed with in 2025. During a fan call on SiriusXM, Joel shared that he is doing well post-surgery and managing the symptoms associated with the disorder.

The 77-year-old musician explained that his balance isn’t great and he has lost some hearing, possibly due to age and his rock and roll lifestyle.

Joel also discussed the inspiration behind his 1973 song “Captain Jack,” revealing it was based on observing suburban kids scoring drugs from a public housing area.
