Tom Petty is gone and greatly missed by many, but his Heartbreakers reunited for one night with a new lead singer. The four members of the original lineup of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers took the stage for the first time in almost 25 years last night, fronted by country superstar Chris Stapleton for an opening performance at the Americana Honors & Awards show in Nashville at the historic Ryman Auditorium. The performance on the Americana Awards featured Stapleton backed by Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Stan Lynch and Ron Blair. They performed the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers iconic “American Girl.” Check it out below!
