There is nothing we love more at the station than hearing from our listeners—but Mrs. Heise’s Tech Ed class at DCE Junior High just set a new bar for “Superfan” status.
While most students are just trying to survive 8th and 9th grade, Oliver, Oz, and Ryan were busy engineering a masterpiece. Their mission? Build a roller coaster. Their inspiration? Us!
From Airwaves to Engineering
“They love listening to Big Cheese 107.9 and LOVE IT when Trav says, “And that’s today’s CHEESE SLEAZE!” — Stacy Heise, Tech Ed Teacher DCE Junior High.
Mrs. Heise reached out to let us know that the Big Cheese 107.9 is the official soundtrack to her classroom’s work time. But for this trio, the music wasn’t enough. They decided to brand their entire coaster project after the station, specifically highlighting our 8:15 morning show segment, The Cheese Sleaze (celebrity gossip and entertainment news).
We had the crew on the morning show to talk shop, and they took us behind the scene to give everyone and idea at what the class is like.
A Huge “Big Cheese” Thank You!
It’s not every day you hear that your morning rants and gossip segments are fueling the next generation of engineers. To Mrs. Heise, Oliver, Oz, and Ryan: thanks for bringing us along for the ride!
Stay tuned to the Big Cheese—you never know who might be building a monument to us next.
