David Bowie released his 25th album, Blackstar, on January 8, 2016, coinciding with his 69th birthday and just two days before the singer’s death. The album was recorded in secret while Bowie was battling liver cancer, and producer Tony Visconti described it as Bowie’s “parting gift” to fans.
A new documentary, David Bowie – The Final Act, premiered in the U.K., covering Bowie’s last years and the recording of Blackstar, with no confirmation of a U.S. release.
