The Rolling Stones’ latest studio recording is a cover of Clifton Chenier’s “Zydeco Sont Pas Salés,” showcasing their interest in the genre. The Rolling Stones have a deep appreciation for zydeco music, with Keith Richards stating, “Zydeco has been a part of what we always listen to.”

Mick Jagger added harmonica and sang in French Creole for the track, incorporating additional verses from older versions of the song. Despite their love for zydeco, the Stones found it challenging to cover the song due to its unique rhythms.

The collaboration between Louisiana musicians and the Stones resulted in an electrifying version of the song that honors Chenier’s genre-blending legacy.
