Mel Brooks and Amazon MGM Studios have released a teaser trailer for Spaceballs 2, announcing its premiere in 2027. The trailer features a message from Brooks, who humorously mentions the long list of sequels and states, “After 40 years, we asked, ‘What do the fans want?’ But instead, we’re making this movie.”

The sequel will see the return of Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet, along with original star Bill Pullman reprising his role as Lone Starr, which might be called “The Schwartz Awakens, with an even greater helmet”.

Keke Palmer is also set to join the cast in a mystery role, and Mel Brooks will reprise his role as Yogurt, the comedic take on Yoda from the original Spaceballs.

The production team includes Josh Greenbaum as director, with Josh Gad, Brian Grazer, and others as producers, and the script is being handled by Gad, Benji Samit, and Dan Hernandez.
