Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson explained that Rush’s final tour was limited to 35 dates in the US and Canada due to Neil Peart’s insistence on a short tour.
Peart was adamant about only doing 30 shows and considered it a compromise, as he initially did not want to do any shows. Lee felt the need to explain the tour’s limitations to British and European fans, as he believed they deserved an explanation.
Lifeson expresses disappointment that Peart’s decision prevented a UK and European run, suggesting that a few more dates would have been more acceptable. Peart’s foot infection and physical limitations during the tour led to the decision to end the tour after the final show in LA.
