Actor Oscar Isaac was initially skeptical of Timothée Chalamet playing Bob Dylan in an upcoming film until he heard him sing one of Dylan’s songs.
Isaac shared this story while presenting Chalamet and director James Mangold with an award at the 2024 Gotham Awards. After hearing Chalamet perform “Girl from the North Country,” Isaac’s opinion changed, praising the actor’s talent.
Isaac commended Chalamet and Mangold for their approach to the project, comparing it to Dylan’s exploration of familiar forms.
The upcoming biopic, A Complete Unknown, explores Dylan’s early career and transition to electric guitars, and is set to release on December 25.
