Former WWE chairman Vince McMahon says he’s “misrepresented” in the upcoming Netflix docuseries Mr. McMahon.
In a statement released this week, the 79-year-old McMahon said he did not regret taking part in the documentary, but believed it “falls short and takes the predictable path of conflating the ‘Mr. McMahon’ character with my true self,”
He also claimed the doc uses out-of-context footage and quotes to “distort the viewers’ perception and support a deceptive narrative.”
Production of the documentary was already underway when McMahon was sued by a former employee for alleged sexual misconduct, leading to his departure from WWE.
Mr. McMahon debuts today (Wednesday) on Netflix.
