Well, nothing says classy like cardboard furniture! Pizza Hut’s latest gimmick is a pizza box that’s also a coffee table.
It’s meant for people who are moving to a new place and haven’t set up their furniture yet. The bottom folds out into a “sturdy base.” But they mean sturdy enough for a pizza… not sturdy enough to put your feet up on it.
They did a poll that found 87% of Americans have ordered pizza during a move, and 79% ate it on the floor.
If they really wanted to innovate, they should have made it look like those little white “pizza savers” that keep your pie from getting crushed. Pizza Hut actually did have IKEA make a table like that a few years ago.
It really is just a gimmick though. They’re only offering their new “Moving Box Table” for a limited time in three cities: Dallas, Charlotte, and Orlando.
