Lainey Wilson has proven that it will take more than Mother Nature to shut her down. Whether she is performing through downpours or doing an acoustic set to a sold out stadium because lightning struck her equipment, Lainey has shown that she’s willing to go the extra mile to play for the fans that come to see her. Friday night, Mother Nature took another swing at Lainey – and once again came up empty.

Lainey was playing the legendary Billy Bob’s Texas Friday when lightning struck AGAIN! This time hitting the venue, knocking out the equipment – including the speakers, microphones – the stuff you need to play for a crowd. Not one to take an “L” without a fight, Lainey improvised.

A crew member came out and brought a megaphone for Wilson to use so that the crowd could hear her. Lainey initially tried to hold the megaphone herself, but that left her with no hands to play her guitar, so she asked the crew member to hold the megaphone up in front of her face so she could speak and sing to the audience. “Clearly we’re having some technical difficulties,” Wilson can be heard saying in one clip posted to TikTok, which also shows her launching into an acoustic, megaphoned version of Keith Whitley‘s “When You Say Nothing At All.”

@mandycollura5 When Texas has been in a 5 month drought and @Lainey Wilson comes to town and not only brings the rain she knocks the power out!! This powerhouse of a woman works so hard she even tried to play via mega phone!! Power outage didn’t last long and @BillyBobsTexas staff had her back up and rollin!
